Neil,

I have attached a pic of her daughter as well as one of my WA BHP's. As for the name you would call my girls morpth. Thats easy. WEIRD.

Ricko, I sell her young for the same price as normals, and yes I do sent interstate as long as buyer pays costs.

Ricko,

I have 17 BHP's. Far too many to take pics of

Rina;

I received that particular WA BHP in 1985. I would estimate he was around 3 to 4 years old when I got him, so I would say he is around 22 years old. I was the first person to actually breed this type of python. I used my old boy in the pic with John Weigel's(of the ARP) large female . She was identical to my boy only slightly larger. We got 9 eggs and all hatched. Unfortunately 5 died within a few weeks of hatching while I was away on holidays. The remaining 4 did not colour up anything like their parents which was a real pitty. A few months after the breeding John's female died. A real shame.

Bigguy,
Thanks for sharing the photo's.
You can really see the mothers colour in the female, that light creamy yellow to the lower flank of the body, very nice!
Love the WA's, they have such a distinctive pattening, how long is that old fella?, I take it WA's are shorter on average than QLD BHP's, but maybe hold a better girth when adult??

Your old male there, could pass off as a 6yr old, stunning snake!

Neil

Ricko,

I actually have 5 Wa BHP's. All of them slightly different to each other, but still all are very nice.

As for the old fellas size. He would be around 6.5 feet which is considered very big for this type. I did find one about 15 years ago squashed on the highway just north of Port headland about 8 feet long. She was a monster for a Black&White.

Hey Bob,
Have you got a male to go with that young female this year?
She is very light exactly what i'm looking for to go with my male(i posted pics of him a few weeks back) i know you wouldn't sell her but do ya want to borrow my male?
I started slowly cooling him last week.

Bigguy, for a snake of his age the colour and markings are still spectacular! Bet you were definately waiting with baited breath for those babies but unfortunately it seems once again, true to form, the difficulties of hatching BHP's! Would have been interesting to have had another go breeding the parents again to see what results you might have achieved the second time around. Any more breedings for the old boy?

Bigguy do you breed your WA BHP's, how much do they usually go for? PM if neccesary

Personally I would be happy with any BHP, beautiful animals. I especially like the patterning on the sides of the belly scales. I have been biten by a 6ft woma and that was extremely painful, so I cant imagine what an 8ft BHP would do!

On page 25 of Richard Shine's book "Australian Snakes, a natural history" there is a pic of a bhp with a white head! only has a few black spots on the head. Its a shame the pic doesnt show the body though to see if the black bands are absent aswell
