Ven time Hot March

The heat of these last two weeks has kept melbourne wildlife controllers busy.
Here are some pics of some of the snakes we have been called out to on the peninsula.
A tiger from Rosebud, very cute i reckon.
The dark copperheads are from Cranbourne and the lighter ones are from Mt Martha and Mornington.
The tiger in the bird netting was bought to me by a guy from Langwarren who cut most of it out himself and bought it to me to remove the rest of the net.
He asked me if he could take it back to his property to release it.
Ver nice guy.

Unlike another guy who rang me to pick up a snake from Hastings and then rang me back 10 minutes later to ell me he had killed it,,,grrrr..
I gave him both barrels worth of abuse untill he hung up on me and then i rang him back and gave him some more.
It was a copperhead.

Still in March although it has cooled a bit now.

This little tiger had it tail caught in an air conditioning unit in a cabin at Nepean Country Club.

This place, and the areas aound it have some very healthy populations of tigers like this.

A baby copperhead is another factory in hastings.

Ill take some pics of that one later

cant u get the guy that killed it busted!? he'd obviously gotten himself out of any danger when he called and went back to hassle it.

When i got to the copperhead it seemed to have been very dehydrated and looked so skinny.
I think it had been inside with no water through the hot days of the last week or so and was on its last legs.
It had a big drink when i got it back to my place and i have managed to put a rat tail in its mouth which it downed slowly.
Tomorrow I will release it in the paddock next to the office where i got it as that would have been where it came from.
