the best IMO is to buy frozen rodents(apropriately sized, ask your store or post a pic of the snake and we can tell you) MAKE SURE you defrost them first, the best method for this is to put it in plastic bag and float it in a bowl of hot/warm water (warmer than 25 degrees but cooler than bath tempreture) leave it in for around 3-7 mins, then take it out warm (check to make SURE its not hot! should feel about the same temp as your neck or stomache) then feed it warm to your snake head first! hope this helps.

definately not frozen, make sure it is thouroughly defrosted. as for defrosted vs live(just dead) it is better for it to take defrosted IMO just easier that way. and as for live there are risks for your snake to consider. JMO I'm sure there will be plenty of others that are more exp that can offer advice.

Frozen rats reduce the risk of disease and feeding live is not good for the rodent or the snake. Defrost thoroughly before feeding in water and pat dry (make sure its not hot though)

Defrosted at a warm temperature. As Dragon tail has said.

seal it in a glad bag, leave a corner open while u start to submerge it in warm water so it looks like its vaccuum packed and it wont get wet. if it floats its easily weighed down with wine glasses,...

as Tan mentioned, freezing kills any parasites and worms the rat may be carrying.

he means you shoudl buy frozen but dont feed it frozen, he suggest (as we all do) you defrost it (but dont cook it), the rodent should be body warm or slightly less when feeding and thawed all the way through......but yes, its baught as frozen. good luck dude, hope we have helped!

best food

Obviously the best feed is a fresh killed rodent which has been bred indoors by a clean lab stock breeder with no contact with wild mice or rats.
frozen ones which are thawed until just ready are also very good
I put mine in the reptile room until just thawed throughout and them feed immediately.
If you don't feed immediately they need to be discarded as they will start to decompose and your snake has no choice but to eat it if he is hungry.

the most healthy and rick free are thawed rodents but sometimes to get a snake feeding you will need to use live or fresh killed, but just stick to thawed to make sure you dont get any nasties
