When Should i Buy ?

Just wondering when is the best time to start looking for darwin hatchies next year ?

Are certain times better for price and quality or is it the same all season.
I will also be looking for bredli as well .

Just need to know how long i have left to save up.

Dobermanmick,

The best time too look, is when they are advertised. In general though, Carpets are one of the last to breed. The prime time for Carpet hatchlings is January through to March. You may get the occassional clutch earlier, but these are normally the more expensive because they are the first available. They get cheaper in the prime period when there is a glut of them available.

LOL bigguy, i never heard you say that before, hows that lazy ***** of a blonde mac going?

Dobber, not all darwins are snappy, i've got two that are very placid and have never bitten, but the other two....look out, without a doubt the snappiest snakes i have ever owned, they bite anything even themselves

February/March is probably the best time, or January if any are advertised then. You can occasionally pick good ones up at any time of year though. If possible, get in touch with people expecting expecting to breed the species you're after then pester them until they hatch and go straight over and pick out the best ones. Of course, that will piss many breeders off, so don't over do it! A couple of members of this group are expecting (or at least hoping) to breed bredli this season, as am I. I give myself a 50% chance at best, which sounds similar to the others I know of, but one of us should do it. Ask around and see what you come up with.

It's never too early to start saving.

Actually eddy i have several water pythons, all but one are very placid....the other one is just a bit snappy in the cage. Waters are generally a placid snake.

i know there are lots of opinions on waters being snappy or not, the only ones i have seen have been snappy hatchlings, i havn't seen an adult except in pics

are they snappy as hatchies then grow out of it to become puppy like placid snakes?
