The fact is,thats its not Decs concern whether Eddy or Joe can sell the backlog of womas they have, its not in their game plan.If reptiles and birds were in the control of a private board financed by pet suppliers things would move up and down expediently to there every whim. This isnt the case its government and things will move slowly and begrudgingly, its the way its always been,it took 20 to 25 years just to get a licensing system in place, thats how it works young grasshopper! |

Be great though if they did put diamonds onto a class 2.All of a sudden all the questionable diamonds that come up for sale would miraculously turn into hybrids overnight! |

| | Geek Subscriber | | | | | Well, I have no idea as to whether womas will become class 1 reptiles in NSW, but I've been informed by someone in the QLD EPA that they are undertaking a review of the status of australian reptiles (whether that be all species, or just those with distributions ranging into QLD, I'm not sure). I've inferred, however, that this study is not of particular priority and will therefore be some time coming.
Said study could have a profound impact on keepers given that holders of a rec license are only permitted to keep 2 restricted reptiles.
Could be some interesting times ahead.... |
