Tbh if you can't afford an animal then maybe you should reconsider getting it. How you gonna afford the food, possible vet bills etc if you can't afford the animal O_o.

Agreed. I have 3 and not a cheap python to own. They eat like pigs and you can't keep these ones in tubs.

Yet both of mine are painfully difficult to feed, won't touch rodents (quail only), and will go several weeks at a time without feeding. Bloody annoying... particularly when you see everyone talking about how easy they are to feed.

I'm not a cynic. I've merely had the rose-coloured glasses ripped from my face and crushed beneath the boot-heel of life

We have a little Olive...hes a bit of a special one though. He has a kink, in the first half of his body, which makes him difficult to feed. He is 15 months old and still on mice because we dont want to put his body under too much stress. We have to have 6 monthly xrays to ensure the kink isnt impacting or affecting the rest of his spine. We knew he would be a bit of a money taker but, he is so beautiful, every cent is worth it

I've got one like that, very annoying and time consuming.
Have you tried chickens? Mine will also eat those if it suits him.

Well quite recently people have been catching wild carpet pythons and selling them as captive bred.
Do this a few times and you will have the money for an olive in no time.

P.S I am joking, don't ever take any protected animals from the wild!

You shouldn't have any trouble finding them with a budget of $400.

Olives are cheap. It's their upkeep that's not.
