This morning was FREEZING. Beyond freezing. Horrible. Brrrrrrrrr.
I'm looking forward to going to NZ next month and getting away from this horrible Brissie weather, ha ha ha. At least over there the freezing temperatures come with a side order of snow!

Most of brisbane gets colder than the airport so it would have been under -1 in many places.
I will have to go and check on my beardie and see if he has thawed or not

I drove from Melbourne to Brisbane recently, on a funny schedule which had me travelling through central NSW during the coldest part of the night. It was as low at -7 in some areas, the ground was completely covered in ice (I'd sometimes get out of the car to look at stuff and the herbage under my feet would just crunch
), even some of the trees were covered in frost, which I found quite amazing. The cars parked on the streets in the towns were covered in ice, sometimes very thick ice. I had animals in the car and didn't dare stop for long as I needed to keep the heater running to prevent them from freezing to death!
I'm from Melbourne. Brisbane doesn't know the meaning of cold!Automated signature.

I remember in the good ol days.... 1992 - a severe snow storm hits Christchurch, it's blanketed with snow. Power goes out about 10:30pm - no heating for places without fireplaces... Huddling around a candle, in an old style house, in blankies, seeing your breath everytime you breath as the temp in the house falls below 7'C. 5 nights before power is restored.
The road clearers didn't get through for 3 days!!! No way in or out of our street (not the main road).
The snow stuck around for about 8 or 9 days... Was a beautiful sight when you could finally get out into it... But it hit unexpectedly and fast!
But was a good week for BBQ's (in the garage!).
Snow is fun when it doesn't happen too often with limited damage
But when you're not prepared and freezing cold, knowing you're stuck... Boredom sets in jolly quickly!
