Holy Carp! SOAD, Slipknot, Hatebreed, Meshuggah, worth it for those 4 alone! Not to mention Coal Chamber, hadn't realized they were back together. Thats's a helluva a list! What are tickets going for?

EDIT: After further examination of the original post, I just died a little inside.

Aww maybe next year mate was definitely worth the odd $180 I think it was? You could check if those bands have side waves?

I just got home from Sydney and Manson sucked here as well. It's not even anything to do with drugs that he may or may not have been doing. He has just lost it in recent years. Anyone who saw his performances on or before the Golden Age of Grotesque tour would have to agree with me. The only good thing about his set was the number of girls who were topless by the end of it.
Gotta say Limp Bizkit put on a surprisingly good show and their little tribute to Jessica Michalik earned a bit of my respect. System and Slipknot definitely killed it though. I can't wait to see Slipknot again tomorrow night

Well Manson did one better there, there were zero topless girls in Brisbane! But I guess I'm a girl and I wouldn't wanna get mine out in the cold and rain haha! But what I did forget to mention was that as soon as he came on stage bats started flying over the stage - a sign? Haha!

And I've never been a major fan of Limp but they were surprisingly good here too, and it's nice to know that they care about their fans, even if her death was so long ago.

Just found this Miss M. You might find it humorous:
Manson Booed Off Stage At Soundwave Sydney - Music News, Reviews, Interviews and Culture - Music Feeds

Oh and Slash came out and played the final song with Alter Bridge. I'm a little ashamed to say I was there to Watch Alter Bridge but at the same time that was a very cool surprise

Hahaha yes most of that is true. I was looking for something about his performance too and what was said!

But I was in the Slipknot crowd and people were loving him, from where I was I thought the boos were because he was talking about loving male genitalia or something, I thought he must have insulted the crowd, the camera zoomed in on one girl in the crowd and she didn't look impressed.
Do you know what I'm talking about Ally and do you know what happened there? And yeh there looked like heaps of arguments and he was giving his assistant the bird at one stage in a song. He almost seemed like he hated being there. The camera would black out after each song because he kept going backstage. And we waited ages for the last song which just so happened to be 'the beautiful people.' I don't think you could pay me enough to be in his band, they wouldn't have a clue what's going on!
Oh well, maybe it was all part of the entertainment

Oh and Slash came out and played the final song with Alter Bridge. I'm a little ashamed to say I was there to Watch Alter Bridge but at the same time that was a very cool surprise[/QUOTE]

Awww whaaaat? I skipped alter ridge to visit the bar but that would have been cool. Oh well doesn't even matter, I saw Slash last year

Oh and I don't think his career is dead because he's doing a few side waves and a mate went to one in Brissy the night before and said it was good. Apparently he's meant to be releasing a new album this year too? I think people were just a bit disappointed of the overall show, he just look like he had the energy to be bothered. I think he still has it though, it'd be tough with a crowd waiting for Slipknot!

EDIT: didn't have the energy* excuse the rushed typos.

Good ol’ soundwave. I think my highlight of the day was being accused of smuggling vodka in my SEALED!! Water bottle by a very rude security guard. After stating its impossible because I don’t work at Mount Franklin and nor do I own a bottle packaging company he said it was possible and I had to pour it out or he would kick me out. So I followed his instructions, poured it out on his feet and continued on with my day of paying $17 for subway, seeing a horrible set by manson & terrible sound at many stages I attended. On the plus side, I didn’t get sunburnt!

Yeh they changed the rules for BDO and Soundwave over that, so stupid! Yeh nobody checked my bag, pockets or ID when I walked in, they handed me an 18+ band and that was it!

Steel Panther are worth the price of admission alone (going to see them tomorrow night too). Started with them, then to Hellyeah, Meshuggah, Biohazard, Mastodon, Lamb of God, finished with Black Label Society.
Was going to stay for Machine Head, but an epic weekend on a field trip up the coast with AHS, & driving back early Sunday morning for Soundwave had me a bit knackered by then.

For once none of the bands I wanted to see had a clash of timing, so I got to see them all, & none of them disappointed. I have no interest whatsoever in Manson, SOAD, or Slipknot, so stayed out of the main arena (apart from SP early on).

Steel Panther, Hellyeah, & Mastodon were the stand outs for me.
Day after day, day after day, we stuck, ne breath, ne motion. As idle as a painted ship, upon a painted ocean. Water, water everywhere, and all the boards did shrink. Water, water everywhere, ne any drop to drink.

I've been quietly highlighting a timetable hitlist for Friday. That's after I cop an ear-bashing from Slipknot & Trivium the night before I'm really looking forward to seeing Devin Townsend, and as a wildcard I've penciled in Cherri-Bomb.

Lamb of God, Messuggah, Gojira & Coal Chamber are just a few others on the cards

(memo to self: remember to drink heaps of water the day before )

Just to add, my wildcard is Cherri-Bomb
