Thats Life Puzzle Experts
My 10yr daughter loves doing these puzzles to win prizes in That's Life magazine. We are yet to win anything but one question has me wondering whether the magazine would want a general or technical answer. I don't care if we get it right or wrong but I am always curious with questions that can have more than one answer. The particular puzzle (page 79 latest) has a list of clues and they are after specific numbers for answers. Eg, first clue is "Australian Captial Cities" so the answer to that would be 8. The next clue is "Legs of a snake".
On general terms you would say 'Legs of a snake' is zero. But if they are hoping not to have a winner then they could use the technical answer which could be 'two'. On pythons and boas, the spurs at the cloaca, according to some books and internet pages I have read, are the claws of remnants of upper legs, or nubs. The males still use the spurs in courtship, not as legs. But I have read in one of my books that the spurs can aid in their climbing up trees. I love evolution, even if I am very bad at trying to repeat what I learn...haha
I still say answer zero, as the spurs are only on pythons, not any other snake.Kathy

I don't think remnants of legs = legs. Either way you know its zero, you're just being pedantic.

I had to look up the meaning of pedantic. Yes I can be guilty of picking at minor details.
