my coastal not eating

happy new year to everyone
my male coastal is still not eating and hasnt since april
he is still very active and drinks water have taken to the vet and so far its all normal
the vets last resort is to force feed him
Do anyone think this is a good idea

May I ask some questions Floof?

How old is your costal?

Have there been any changes to the python's environment which may have caused it to become stessed?

Was the python eating well prior to April?

sorry for the lateness for my reply he is 4yrs old doesnt seem to be stressed and always has eaten very well but never over winter

the temperature that the snake is kept at can be critical in it eating or not.
we have a yearling, and my partner thought it was too warm- 35deg- and therefore too active- turned it down 5 degrees. unfortunately this coincided with a cooler spell in the weather- the snake didnt eat for 5-6 weeks, even after we turned the temp back up several times.
i t should eat if all is well in its environment, especially if it was eating well before.

i had a coastal go 18 months with out eating,it eventually turned out to be
organisms in the stomach called flagellates and was treated withan oral medication

it started eating again after treatment
