Could it be true?

I think I have discovered a bargain!

I found a compact light globe, It emits full 4-color spectrum, providing UV-A and UV-B!

FOR $12

Here:

Is that suitable UVB for a Beardie?

If so what wattage should I get?

Do you think it would be the right amount of UVB to prevent MBD?

I found some cheap (about $2) red reptile globes on ebay once and it turned out they were too good to be true. They all died within a month or so, some didn't even work at all and some broke when screwing them in.
All I'm saying is test them out first to find out how good they are.
Also with UV bulbs they really have to have a very high output of UV, a lot of those type of bulbs say they give off UV but it is only a tiny bit. If it doesn't come highly recommended, I don't use it when it comes to UV.

Hello

Hello,

While it sounds like a bargain, I would hesitate to recommend it. I did not find it on the tested UVB charts for 2006 which means it is either very new & didn't get tested or isn't very good. Sometimes, when lights aren't on recommended lists there isn't much information on them. I didn't find much. It could be a Fluker's product which here in the US, Howard Fluker does not have a good reputation. He puts out junk literally.
Where is the light made? If it is made in China, I would be cautious. I have read some studies where some UVB lights that were made in China & they weren't testes before putting out on the market. They got tested & were yanked due to them putting out UVC levels & inconsistent levels of UVB.
I personally think it is better to spend a bit more on a good name brand light. It will be worth it in the end.

Yeah I agree with a few here in that if it doesnt have the stats to back it up i wouldnt use it.
If you want cheap $10 buys you a NECT10 blacklight globe which is very good for your reps.
