Hi everyone. Today I saw for my first time the Gidgee Skink. Lucky for me it was at a petshop and they were for sale. I put them on hold and am going to get them ASAP. I was just wondering if anyone on APS does keep these guys or has kept them in the past as I'd like to know how to tell their sex, how to breed them or how to just how to keep them. Cheer. Mark.

I'm planing to put mine in outdoor pits. No they didn't have nay others available but apparently the breeder was local so he might have some more. I'll let you know. either way I doubt the petshop I bought off would freight. How many do you have and how have you found them to keep? Any problems? They seem to me like just a different sort of stumpy beign that they are found in similar area's. and have quite different scales to other skinks. I'd be very interested in everything you have to tell. Cheers Mark.

Great skinks I have 4 and they're very easy to keep. Mine are in a 4ft enclosure with a stack of bricks under the basking lights, they love it. I'd be careful if you're keeping them outdoors, make sure they have a dry area.

This is what I came up with testing the new camera

I held these guys side by side and compared their tails, width and length, although the skinks were the same size their tails were differently shapped. However, they were only juvies so I might have just been seeing things, fingers crossed, hopfully they are different sex. The guy who was breeding them apparently had them in pits. I really need to have a good chat to him, hopfully the petshop will give me his details. Yeah moose, they are weird. When I seen them originally I just wanted to know what they were because I've never seen them before. Then the guy said, wow, wonder if them spikes hurt. I thought they'd be like beardies and be soft so I told him to open the enc, I got one out and what do you know, they weren't soft at all.

If you get in contact with the breeder please let me know, I'd love to have a chat to them as well.
cheers.
