Jag Pythons

I was looking up Jags again 'cause I heard someone here mention them again and this is what I found http://www.acreptiles.com/pythons_carpet_jaguar.htm
I am now in love with Jaguar Pythons and Irian Jayas
I so wish we could have exotics here sometimes.

The original breeder of this mutation claims it came from a Coastal Carpet x Coastal Carpet pairing.

Regardless, its been mixed into just about every type of Carpet python available overseas, and being worked
into other species of Morelia.

The breeder did have a rather interesting website, ....... seems to have been pulled though now.

yeah.... breed 2 pythons and pray for a spontaneous mutation. Then pray again thats its a co-dominant morph.

Whatever anyone says, the story behind the founding animals is hazy at best....

What for when we already have stunning native reptiles... I mean just take a look at some of the reduced black and striped jungles and coastals we already have here, if you ask me I'd prefer one of those any day over the IJs/Jags!

pythonrockchik1.... not trying to swing this thread off course, but that is the lamest excuse of a post in the history of APS! The "Aussie animals are stunning, why would you want anything else" opinion is a load of bollocks.... I only keep natives, as that is all that is available, but if laws were introduced i would go gangbusters on exotics, cottonmouths, balls, Boelins, whitelips, angolans, the list goes on.... comments putting international herps down are the extremely shallow. We have beautiful animals here, thats for sure, but as a herper if you cant see outside your blinkers, then your missing the bigger picture.

Now I see others have jumped on the same mentality.... if the land on which a reptile is born is the only thing that allows you to find it attractive in any way, then you really need to check your head, and look deeper into your love of reptiles and/or your racist tendencies.

I Agree I've seen pics of selectively bred animals here in australia and they are really nice(Looks like some jags)
I don't know much about them but the last couple of months I discovered some overseas sites that have infos about them.
I was also reading some stuff about JAGs on overseas forums and they have a tendency of neuro problem, so whats the point of having an animal with problems.

I take it thats directed at me, thats ok.
My comment is driven by nothing more than some pride in our native fauna, and Australia in general.
I sure do have a strong preference for native animals (not just reptiles), but hey ive been herping outside of Australia also, so obvisously im interested in foreign species.

Can you really tell me you dont have a preference for a particular genus or species...?

No idea, where racist tendencies could come under any of that though.

Matt
