Mountain Horned Dragon babies/pics

This is my newest addition.
I got a baby-pair of Green Pricklenape (Acanthosaura capra).
They are captive-bred and a half year old.

The female is relaxing on the branches and the male
is at the bottom, sitting on the cork bark.
There you can see the awesome camouflage of these guys!

Well Jason, that's a good question!
As I'm interested in nearly all herps it's hard to say!
Maybe some Strophurus or Diplodactylus species.

They are distributed in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Yes, and we have many herp shows here, including the biggest herp show
in the world (the Hamm Show) which takes place 3 times per year.

No, they aren't so common seen and captive-bred ones are seldom offered!

Normally you can only get wild caught ones which often don't thrive well in captivity
and are full of inner parasites.

The guy who bred them told me that the first babies were all dying, because they were kept
too warm.

They grow very slow and need cooler temperatures around the 22°C.

Hello

Hello Lars,

They are absolutely georgeous MHD's!! I love them. I have a friend who breeds captive MHD's here in the US pretty successfully.

I think they are similar to H.spinipes from australia or H.boydii, they also prefer cooler temps. Nice animals.
