shedding to often

I have come across a problem that some one may be able to help me with.I have 2 coastals and they are in the same enclosure together.They are shedding way to much and I have never come across this before.When they are not they have a light coat of mucus around there eyes.They are still eating and I have checked for all signs of mites and I cant find a thing.It is not scale rot there enclosure is kept spotless and they have no brown markings on there under belly.This is happening once a month and my vet is good but cant identify what this is.Is there any one who can give me any suggestions please?

Could it be to dry or something?? I dont know as im not a herpitoligist BUT i am giving you suggestions as to why it could be happening

They must be assessed by a REPTILE vet. They shouldn't have mucus around the eyes at any time - snake eyes are not wet like ours, they have a scale over them which is just a continuation of their skin, and should be dry like the skin at all times. Sounds like some serious problem there to me. if you have other herps, especially snakes, strict quarantine from these animals is essential until you identify the problem. That means no shared feeding or cleaning implements, no shared water bowls, no passing uneaten food from them to other snakes etc...

I'm with Jamie, take your snake to another vet, one with as much experience in reptiles as you can find.
Hope you can get to the bottom of this and that all ends well.
