Hey again
I am going to pick up my Beardie in 2 0r 3 weeks, and have everything on order and enclosure almost set-up. Anyway, I have a couple of questions:
What temps. should the basking area be?
When can i feed mealies to my Beardie(I have heard diff. opinions on this)?
What temps. should the cool end be?
Any advise Welcome
Cheers
Dylan

mine has a hot spot at 35, other end idealy should be around 20-25. mealie are a treat ONLY, once or twice a week max they're fatty low in nutients and can be hard to digest if you want an alternative to crickets or woodies sil worms are in season now and they are the best for nutrional content.

just a heads up Beardy_Boy
that rock dish to the far right
i have the same one and eventually the paint on the bottom of it inside the bowl will flake off after continuous use with water and they tend to leak
so maybe just use that one for food if you wernt all ready
other then that it looks fantastic!
cheers
camo....

Mealworms are fine for adult beardies, but are better as a treat than a staple due to their questionable nutritional content. If your beardie is just a youngster, it would be best to avoid mealworms altogether (due to the risk of impaction from the chitin in their exoskeleton).

With hatchies i dont turn off heat light until they are 4 wks old at night...then all off at night.
good idea to get a simple timer that you can plug your U.V & heat light to, goes on & off when sun rises& sets, this help with digestion of food & eating, depending on the size of your beardie to size if food ..live & veg..no bigger than 1/3 of head size....including adults! If b/d isnt getting natural sun 30min pr day use supplement calcium/vitamin powder alternatively on live feed..every other meal.
Hatchies...start with endive..parsley..bokchoy... no need to varie this until 8wks..dont stress if you dont see b/d eat veg..just replace every day ..an amount the size of b/d's torso, generally they will start hand fed eating by 6wks..but not always.
Great choice of reptile!...how old is the beardie you are getting?
34-38* under basking light & 20-23* cool end ...dont let your tank get under 16* for a hatchie at night!

I recieved a day old hatchie at the airport as a import instead of a 8mnth old,red,female.... buyer beware! & any TRUSTWORTHY breeder will know when the hatch date is & also have a feeding record..there are plenty of good breeders your way!
