what type of gecko is this?

found it in eltham, which is in the north eastern suburbs of VIC an hour away fromt he CBD

i think it might be a marbled gecko - christinus marmoratus


but i wouldnt really have a clue

(no im not keeping him)

You are correct. Marbled gecko- Christinus marmoratus.

it was really the only gecko i found in my book that was even close to my area!

Female Marbled gex produce calcium deposits on their neck for breeding season.

whoa, i didnt no that, so if it was a male its neck would be thinner? and how old would you say it is? as in is it fully grown or stil young?

i would say its about 9 or 10 cms

It's a mature adult but they can get a bit bigger than that.
