Venomous Snake Handling Course - Brisbane #2

G'day guys,

We will be conducting a Venomous Snake Handling Course (Damage Mitigation based) on the weekend of the 28/29th July.

The location of the course will be announced tomorrow.

Species used will include -

Eastern Brown Snakes
Death Adders
Red Belly Black Snakes
Yellow Faced Whip Snakes
Mulga Snakes
Western Brown Snakes
Tiger Snakes
Brown Tree Snakes
Carpet Pythons

We will not be using Taipans for this course, however we will have them there for photographic purposes. Anyone from NQ wishing to do work with Taipans, please contact me.

This course will be limited to people aged 18 years and over, NO EXCEPTIONS.

This course is limited to a maximum of TWELVE people, with 4 positions already booked. ERD reserves the right to fail anyone they do not believe is competent in handling venomous snakes. The trainers have copious amounts of venomous snake experience, having both come from Venom Supplies in South Australia.

Equipment will be provided for use during the course, however it is also for sale. We design, test, use and manufacture all our own equipment, as we could not find anything that was up to our standard. Everything except our hooks is manufactured in house, and the hooks are WELDED by an X-ray qualified boilermaker.

Prices are as follows -

Course - $250 per person
Hook - $30 per hook (1150mm long)
Hoop Bag - $50 (includes hoop and bag)
Spare Bag - $35
Snakes of South East Queensland Book - $10
Bandages - $10 a pair
Snake Handling Kit - $175 (Includes 2 x hooks, 1 x hoop, 2 x bags, 2 x bandages, 1 x book, in a purpose built carry bag)

How often do you run these courses ? Im located in Canberra and would be able to attend this one, any chance of another course happening at the start of 2008?

There are various reasons, which include me being unable to access my PM's for a while, a working bee at the 4x4 club house where we hold the courses this weekend and also accommodating a few people from who couldn't make it this weekend.
