first, ive got a repti-glo 2.0, 26 W, and its in a reflector. how close should the beardy be to it? is 6 inches a good number?
second, ive been using a ceramic heater, and we had a slightly abnormal electricity bill for the month, is it likely that the heater would eat through any extra power? we also ran the heater in the lounge a lot more, but i was targetted as the main culprit, is it likely?
thanks in advance for speedy responses, even if my questions are needlessly time consuming for you.
Leigh

Our 3 mthly electricity bill just came in - $735 vs $430 for the previous 3 mths. Yes, I nearly pooed myself. However, my misses feels the cold and the 1hp split system air conditioner in the bedroom has been running nearly 24/7 over Winter. She tried to blame me too, but the only addition this period was a single 60w red globe on a dimmer, and theres no way that would cost $100 per month to run. I reckon she should just wear additional layers of clothes!!!

With regards to the second question. I remember a thread ages ago on here regarding power usage etc. The general conclusion came to show that a 60w bulb for a year would cost about $6 to run. After all it is just a globe, they dont use any more power than any other light. |

I though $400 odd was bad, I nearly dropped dead at $735.
