2 sheds in 2 days...

My Mac has shed twice in 2 days... The first was a messy shed with pieces of skin/scale all over the place... 2 days later I got a complete intact shed. Snake is happy and receptive to contact so I'm not worried, just wondering how common this is...???

Very rare i'd say. He probably had problems during his last 'scheduled' shed (the skin didn't come off), so he tried to shed again a couple of weeks later with the previous shed coming off first, then the new one? I'd keep an eye on him next time he's coming up for a shed to make sure all goes well.

That makes sense as I thought he was overdue for a shed - the first in my care was a complete undamaged shed, then the scrappy followed by a complete.

Will keep an eye out - out of curiosity, can someone enlighten me as to roughly how often a mac will shed, he is approx 9 months old now feeding weekly.

i had a similar thing happen with my coastal when i first got him. he shed, but the skin underneath had little lumps in it like skin worms. it was also looser looking. then a day or two later he shed again. since then there has been no problem.

No lumps or looseness, looked normal after the scrappy shed...
