Not sure that would give you an even result mate unless you had some sort of system that could equalize the temps in both tubs like a PVC tube linking the two with mesh over the ends.

One tub could get cold and the other could remain good.

Seperate thermostats for each would be better. Unless of course you have a multi-head thermostat that can monitor multiple temps.

you can get 2 probe thermostats so you can monitor 2 cages at a time.

This is proberbly best left to the breeders to answer but I am pretty sure when I was alowed to stick my head around the back of the reptile shop I saw click clacks on one long strip mat. The size difference proberbly depends on how different the sizes are.

Of course you can... You are controlling the temp of the mat with the thermostat so how in hell will one get colder than the other.... It gets done every day.... I am yet to meet a breeder that has a thermostat for every click clack lol, would cost a small fortune...

I have bank enclosures aswell as single enclosures, i have a thermostat located in the top of my bank enclosures and it regulates 5 enclosures and keeps the same temps 29 warm 23 cool end, i use a safety cut off switch all times.. also becarefull how many watts your running through the one out let, as to many will blow globes. im only running no more then 150 watts through the one thermostat. not to sure but they should allow 7.5amps 240 volts 1800watts but i wouldn't rely on that remember "safety first" cut off switch.
cheers steve

Usually the tubs are all identical, ie: same size, same amount of ventilation, same hides, same water dish etc.
In this case, it depends on the size difference in the tubs

Should work fine , the mat/cord will still get the same temp in each ......so cant see what the problem would be .
i run 15 tubs on the one stat , 6 of one size and 9 another and they all have the same hot spot temp ...

When you are heating with a mat you are creating a certain floor temp for part of the enclosure, so if you are creating a floor temp of 31 degrees in one tub how is it going to differ in the other, even if the plastic is a slightly different thickness?

Put it this way, i do it all the time and it works.

If it works (and I agree it should), what am I doing wrong. I have two identical click clacks on the one Microclimate heat mat with a Microclimate 100 thermostat and my click clacks can be anywhere from 1 degree different to 4 degrees different. I am becoming obsessed with temperatures and it is going to my mental health no good!!!!

Are the enclosures both sharing an equal part of the heat mat? Are you measuring the temp in the same location in each enclosure, i say this because most heat mats are hotter towards the center. You have an on/off type thermostat i think so try measuring temps once the mat is off as the temp should be more even then.
