I would like to purchase a Jungle Python Hatchy but I'm not too sure what type of enclosure I should keep it in. If I buy it a large tank, would it be a good idea to keep it in a small container within the tank and take out the container when it's larger? What size should the container and tank be? what sort of plants should I add in the tank and what sort of flooring?
Thanks for your help, this will be my very first snake so any other advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

(for my click clacks i use the sistema ones which have clips on all 4 sides) if u cant get them then grab some of thoughs celco cl;ips and use bout 4 - 5 (depending on how paranoid u are) of them per side.
make sure u do a test run of the temps before actauly putting the snake in, maybe do a test run for 2 days or so just leave it on and check to see if the temps are the same every so often....
you could use newspaper or paper towel as a substrate but for my click clacks i use aspen bedding
hope that helps!

For the temps, it should be about 32-33 in the hot end and about 25-26 in the cold end. And just use a heat matt for the click-clack. Also, Jungles are known to be a bit snappy and temperamental, but there are some exceptions. I would think a different species of Carpet Python would be better for a first time snake owner. |

What sub-species would you recommend for a first timer? I was also looking at buying a M. Bredli hatchy, are they of any better temperament?
Thanks,
