They actually even came upto my hand whilst holding a cricket to see if they would take they were abit skittish as you would expect but one did make a grab at the cricket so hopefully there guna get used to being around me soon.
I have also just purchased a 4x2x2 foot used enclosure off auzlizardking to hopefully place my ackies in now or when they get a bit bigger. He's on his way now to deliver it and a previous snake tank i have orded hopefully.
I would just like to sincerly thank everyone who has helped me out with minimal critiscism getting everything sorted out (teaching me how to look after them lol) makes me grateful to have stumbled across such a great website like this where i can talk to fellow herp obssesed people like me to learn from them and seek help if need be, though i've learned next reptile i plan to eventually get i'll do some THOROUGH research first. people learn from there mistakes
One last question though, would i be able to place my hatchling ackies into the 4x2x2 foot enclosure right away if i set it up adequatley I.e heaps of hiding places rocks and a few sticks so they won't freak out being in such a big place at such a small size and of course the heat stack which iv'e just completed this arvo ???
Thanks again everyone.
Cheers,
Matt |

dont bother throwing in to many hides as you still want them to have an easy time in finding crickets i find the tile stack which is many hides at many different temps in itself is awsum and also another hide down the cool end (i got a hollow log) along with the nesting box which they will use as a humdihide and for a good dig |

I wasn't to sure if they would freak out bein in a bigger enclosure like i've been told hatchling snakes do, i'll just set up the bigger enclosure like how i have my 2fter setup...just on a broader scale.
Thanks Kenshin
Cheers,

A picture tells a thousand words. This is their current set up which is working fine. It is a 2 foot fish tank. The sides are painted with fluon so the roaches don't escape. I have a UV Black Light in the baton holder but I don't think this is critical. Lots of hides in the form of toilet roles. Flat shallow water bowl filled daily. Hot basking spot from 2 x 50 watt halogen lights focused on stacked bricks. Sand, kept damp at one end, as a substrate which they love to dig in. Make sure they cannot dig under anything heavy enough squash them. Here the bricks are in contact with the glass at the bottom. I have 5mm mesh as a lid which is up in the picture. When it is down I have a board that goes over the top weighted with containers of water (ready to top up the water bowl) because I have learned from sad experience that they accomplished escape artists straight out of the egg!
