addition procedures

im just curious what peoples procedures are when they aquire a new addition to there reptile collection (or fish!).
im just curious who actually quarentines and how long for?
time spent before feeding or handling if any?

with my reptiles i have never quarentined as i dont have the space and i have only just brought a URS plastic viv for quarentine but the last animal i brought was a 6ft coastal and this quarentine enclose is only about 2ft so i couldent.
i never feed on the same day as aquiring an animal as i feel its really improtant to just leave them alone and i avoid showing anyone or disturbing for photos.
anyway any replies would be awsome as i want to know what others do

Addition procedure

as i only have a small collection (at the moment) i keep my new snakes in seperate room for 3months. checking feeding, worming them before they move into the same room, etc. at the moment i have had their enclosures ready for them to use as a quarantein set up before purchasing any new snakes. in the future in planning on using dedicated set ups. so far i havn't found any problems but im planning on growing my collection so am working on quarantein protocols i will be using

I keep all new arrivals in the same room as my collection, however they are all in seperate enclosures, i wash hands etc between all new animals and my collection.... never share waterbowls or hides etc etc

I always quarantine for a while as well, checking for mites, scale conditions, worming, and i give them a couple of sprays of Top of Descent...

It also depends were your getting the animals, if im getting them from a well known breeder im not as tough on them, but if im getting them from some one i dont know or dont trust there living conditions they get the full treatment...
