advice please

I’ve gotten into the habit of asking everyone is prospective buys sound like goods ones so ……..
The proposed buy is of two eastern bluies about 1.5 to 2 years old and around 25cm long. Originally I only wanted one, but this guy keeps his in a group of about 40 in an outdoor enclosure, although this pair has been moved indoors for a while now. When I asked about splitting them up he told me that it wasn’t a good idea since these guys have been raised in a group and that when in the past he has sold ones individually they have only lasted about six months because they slowly stress out and stop eating. He’s not %100 sure if it’s a male/female pair since he only really can tell once they have babies and with a group as large as his it’s hard to keep track of each lizard, but at the moment he thinks they are. One is very placid when it comes to handling whereas the other is a bit skittish but calms down; this is due to him keeping them outdoors and not handling much and reckons they will both calm right down after regular handling.
So my questions are- do these sound good for me? They will be housed in a 4ftX2ftX2ft indoor enclosure as outdoors in not an option for me. What do you guys think of permanently housing in pairs? I’ve read elsewhere it’s a no go.
Any other comments would greatly be appreciated

It should be ok, but you'll have to keep a close eye on them to ensure there is no fighting.

Housing lizards in pairs is possible however don't buy the pair unless you can change the housing arrangement to individual enclosures immediately if any problems arise.

Can be better to buys established pairs if you want to house them in pairs. Our 2 babies can no longer be housed together and we need to keep an eye on them when we have them both out at the same time.

i think thats a good idea. my 2 blueys used to always fight so i had to build seperate enclosures. blue tongues generally live as loners so it shouldnt be a problem for one to be on its own.

Nymph - Why have you decided to import a Common Bluey? There will be hundreds of them for sale in Sydney in a few months and dirt cheap as well...
