Do you have a hide for him to retreat in to? If you move around him constantly, it can cause him to be stressed which might cause him to feel like he needs to tell you to back off.

As to calming down, only a fortune teller can tell you that. Some snakes are agro, some are kittens. With handling, most - but not all - snakes will calm down to a degree. I should add, constant handling doesn't mean to the point of stressing your snake out. Minimal, constant handling (an oxymoron) is what is needed.

I probably haven't helped you a bit Good luck.

stick your hand in there and get him used to havng hands in his enclosure.
and if you've just got him let him settle in for 2-3 weeks before feeding and holding

Hey Willia mate

It's ok to give advice mate but at least own a snake before you do. Some of the information you have been giving since joining is well downright ridiculous,

look if you don't want to get bitten all the time it might be worth while once the snake has settled down to get yourself a snake hook so the snake doesn't feel it has to defend its home when you have it out then handle it they wont get stressed and when u handle the snake try not to have it in a home full of people moving around a nice quiet place and just handle it and make it feel secure eventually it will recognize your not a threat to it and stop biting u

Hey Chris,

Try the following. Cover your enclosure front with material or paper so it isn't stressed when approaching the container. Have at least 2 hides in there as so it feels secure all the time. Most importantly be positive when handling, handle from the back do not restrain it's head and don't put obstructions in front of it as so it wants to lash out. Don't have it out for long periods just long enough for it to settle.

Try to keep handling to a minimum only a few times a week. For now i'd cover it up and let it settle!

Good Luck!

I agree with hazz, if it could speak to you it would be telling you to get lost at the moment ..........keep it quiet and make it feel secure try again in a few days to a week ,get a plastic coated hanger and use that as a hook to lift out the snake once out place hands underneath never close your thumbs around the snake your hands are only a guide if your snake feels in control it will relax using any type of force like gripping with your hands will cause stress and the snake will most likely bite you, remember the slinkys thats the way with the snake it thinks it can get away ............and like hazz said short holding times will suit it better as it settles down you will be able to have it out for longer bursts but overall there is a chance you may get bit but thats part of owning a snake just make sure you post pics up we wanna see blood ...........goodluck RBB

yeah really everyone who owns a snake has to shed blood one time or another they are an additive hobby so be prepared for more down the track
