animales yawning

does any one know if yawning is contagious in animals like it is in humans because yesterday i saw two of my blueys yawn then a few seconds later one of my water dragons yawned then the same thing happened today with my beardies one yawn and them the rest of them yawned just wondering

i think you have put mor eresearch into this then anyone else in the world therefore you are the most qualified to answer your question

your results say that it is now you jsut need to repeat the experiment

Contagious yawning in humans in thought to be due to compassion.

Don't ask me how or why etc, I just remember it from a study I read a few years back. It stuck with me as its a pretty weird thing.

I somehow doubt you have compassionate lizards but you never know.....



It may have had something to do with oxygen / carbon dioxide levels etc.

i once saw a man do what i thought was a yawn from about 50 metres away, from the back, and i then yawned. all he did was stretch his arms up slowly, but i thought it was a yawn.
