i love cats and dogs and herps!! anyone who feeds cats/kittens to a snake is sick in the head! They are classed as companion animals not feedercats! Go feed your big olive a lab pup, just the same. Sorry but i hate hearing jokes/and seriousness about cats being fed to snakes, PLUS its illegal!

On a lighter note, id goa pygmy dragon (grow smaller than a normal beardy) or a central beardy. You could get a whole set up including the dragon for under $300!

Depends who you talk to at the EPA but i had a conference with both a ranger and the RSPCA and was informed that it is legal to feed your snake cats as long as the cat is humanely killed prior to feeding. Any domestic animal may be fed to your snake provided it is humanely killed. Yes, i fed cats to my scrub python.

Rats and mice are considered as companion pets to some people too. I love guinea pigs heaps also. But they are part of the food chain. That's something you have to overcome when owning a snake.
I got my cats/kittens from the local pet shop. Whenever they got given (or more like were dumped with) non pure-bred felines they would come to me.
I guess i am sick in the head lol.
Too many cats and kittens in the world. No harm in them being in the food chain. Kept my scrub python happy, kept more strays off the street and was approved by QPWS and RSPCA so all happy all around One big chain of people sick in the head!! Woohoo

Not meaning to be funny. I am being serious. Too bad if you find it offensive. NOT illegal NOT inhumane NOT an issue.

SHE was being serious
And that's exactly right...it wasn't as if i was stealing people's pet cats lol. And they were humanely killed (gas chamber) which was approved by the RSPCA. It's not just something i did for fun. It was seriously looked into - both legally and ethically.

Anyone who thinks its worse to feed a snake on cats compared to domestic rats has some serious issues IMO, they are made from meat therefore they can be used as food, very simple. IMO its actually better to use cats as it would save them being kept by bad owners. Feral cats and unwanted kittens couldnt be in a better place than a reptiles belly(well other stuff could eat them too if you choppem up).

There are no laws against killing cats and you are even required by law to make all reasonable efforts to control/kill feral cats on your own property(in QLD)

PS. Its against my personal ethics to kill anyones pet, even if they are letting it kill wildlife, if i ever caught a cat with a collar i would take it to the pound. If someone else does it that is up to them its the cats owners fault for not looking after it IMO.

I just cant imagine feeding cats to snakes!! I just cant!! I know mice and rats are pets too aswell as food, but they dont sleep on your bed and purr and sit on your lap and watch tv?! Cats are a companion animal, mice and rats arent considered that (just like snakes arent yet) I think its gross lol. Just my 2cents.
