Another noob wanting advice....

Hi, after much consideration I have decided to expand our zoo with either a Bearded Dragon or a Pygmy Bearded Dragon . We already have a couple of pythons and frogs etc but I really think a Dragon would be great but am concerned about a couple of things.

My questions are:
- What is the minimum size enclosure I would need for either one? My preferance is to go bigger than minimum but lets see what it is first as my lounge room is starting to explode with enclosures at the moment.
- What is the best substrate.... I have seen so many opinions on differant forums and care sheets that I am really confused on this one. Americans really seem to advocate using tiles on the floor but I am wondering if this really suitable or should I be looking at something else.
- What size do Pygmys grow to and are they just as easy to care for as the standard Beardie and do they handle as well.

Thanks for any advise you may have for me.... I am sure people get sick of noobs wanting to pick your brains but I want to do this properly and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge and experience around here .

i only know about beardies sorry
in terms of enclousre size 4ft X 2ft would house them forever. in terms of substrate i personally use reptile carpet, it's like marine carpet however a lot of keepers here say butchers paper or newspaper is the only way cause it's so easy to clean. there was a recent debate on the titles the overall conclusion was that you should use the textured ones and they're good in terms of cleaning and you can get some very nice looking ones also. at the end of the day i guess it comes down to a balance between what you want to look at and how much tim eyou have to clean it

for a pair of centrals i have 4ft x 2tf x 2ft but i would reccomend 6ftlong x 3ft high x 2ft deep as it gives them alot more romm and they are alot more enjoyable to watch . in thats size you could have a trio. for pygmeys i think that size is good for about 6 but not to sure. best substrate for adults would prob be sand. with juvies start with newspaper or butchers paper. thats about all i know. if i am wrong with anything, dont hesitate to correct me.
good luck, cheers
matt
