Hi,
I am fairly new to snake keeping, but am already badly addicted and need more.
Jungle carpets are what I want next, but dont know what cage size these guys need (as adults). The cage size is really gonna dictate my choices if I wanna keep these guys in my living area.
Will they be ok in a 2ft W x 2ft D x 3ft H enclosure or do they need more space?

One would be fine in that. Dont risk keeping them together.
Maybe a list of cage sizes/species in the sticky "tips" section would be good? That could be a little more ...accessable/front page maybe?
forgot to say, not as hatchlings in that, most keep hatchys/littlies in tubs, they feel more secure, but one adult jungle would be happy in that size, i meant.

as hatchies they would go into individual tubs until 2ft long or so, then ito their adult enclosures.
a sticky of cage sizes is really needed for newbies like me

Problem is, no two snakes are the same, and neither are snake keepers opinions when it comes to cage sizes. You get someone who is in it to keep as many as possible snakes and they will use smaller cages, you get someone else who wants to keep a limited number of animals but give them the optimum cage size and you will get two opinions that differ greatly! My opinion? Research minimum cage sizes, double them, now you are getting close to the size enclosure the animal should really be housed in.

| ? | Well I guess there are two choices
have a nice small setup in my living area
or move the snakes into my garage where there is heaps of room
but putting them in my garage means I wont get to enjoy them as much
my preference is to have them in the living area

Well, and you may not want to hear this, in my opinion we keep these animals and so should give them the best conditions we can. With this in mind the garage sounds the best choice for the animals and the living area the best choice for you. Why not compromise and have a setup in the living area to house one or two snakes and the rest in the garage ? Just think, you can have an armchair and a beer fridge in the garage too, then you'll see a lot of your snakes I am sure
I must say at this point that this is how I BELIEVE animals should be kept and not necessarily the way I do it myself. I, too, am space deprived and my animals are in smaller enclosures than I would like them to be! I am just airing my views.
