***Anyone in Sydney area got Mites at the Moment??? ***

Is there anyone out there that has a mite problem at the moment?
If so, please email me for the chance to not only get a free treatment of Mite spray, but also help by allowing a university to analysis the results.

Please PM me if you would like to know more and maybe able to help.
Complete confidentiality is assured.
Or Phone 0403 949 217/ Email : admin@strictlyreptiles.com.au

Many thanks
Neil

Mites is one of those things that nearly everyone that has kept snakes for any length of time will eventually get!
I have bought snakes before which I have checked over, but a few days later once home and warmed up have shown a few mites! The little buggers are a pain but nothing to be ashamed of  .

Cheers Neil

Well most people that I've met freak out at the thought of mites....

I'm not sure what they look like exactly (I've not seen any yet) but I'm sure, as you say- I will one day.

Don't get me wrong , they are a pain in the ####, and nobody wants them(Except for me, which is the purpose of this post! ) but if you quarantine all new animals there's no reason why the outbreak can't be treated quickly and easily.

Cheers Neil

Not really worth freaking out over, if you have good quarantine procedures then realistically you should only ever have to treat 1 snake, which is relatively easy. I've had them on new snakes and never had an issue with them contaminating my others.

Hi Freddy,

We have been asked by a product manufacteur to help find them someone that has mites, so they can use the established product and evaluate it for the purpose of filing an application with the relevent governing body, so they can supply the product as a reptile specific product, with the correct labeling etc.

Cheers Neil

Our University has an affiliated company now selling the predatory mite hypoaspis. This predator is widely being used in the STATES for cleaning up snake mites, eggs etc.

A few prominent herpers have been evaluating them for a season, to come up with stocking rates. They are very impressed with the results.

No chemicals required, an agent will be acting on behalf of the company and they will be available this Spring, Summer.
