Anyone introducing yet?

I have a trio of coastals here that have gone off their food.
The 2 females will eventually eat but are resistant at first.
The male however wont have a bar of it. So today I introduced the male to female 1's enclosure a bit earlier than expected.

Alot of tongue flicking and climbing over each other so far. Will give it a few days & see how they go before seperating again.

Erm maybe I'm behind the times or something, but I thought the routine was: Cool seperately, introduce after winter.
Now perhaps I've just woken up from a 4 month coma, but I didn't think it was spring just yet?

most species of python mate during winter, usually quite early in the season. I introduce all my childrens mid may. Coastals usually don't start mating till much later on, usually not till it starts to warm up again. Nothing lost though in introducing them earlier and seeing how they go.

Ya, coastals are after winter, and he's referring to coastals. Hence my confusion

Yea I stated it was "a bit earlier than expected".
As they are off their food atm I thought I would temporarily introduce them & see what happens.

I will be seperating again in a few days and continue cooling over winter.

I'n my experience carpets can go off their food as it starts to cool down in preperation to burmate. I'd assume that's what your animals are doing-their body clocks are telling them winter's comming

If a snake still accpets food whilst being cooled should you continue to feed or stop? Will it affect there breeding response later on?

Cheers Alex

Hrm I'm taking a stab in the dark with this but if the accepted way to get a good breeding response is to cool and not feed, I'm assuming that the opposite (you'd need to warm them to aid digestion yes?) would have a negative response. Also it'd depend on the particular species? It's still warm feeding time and childreni are going at it...
