are rabbits a good food source?

hi all,
just wondering if its ok to feed my pythons pinkie rabbits instead of mice or rats. i have been feediong my 2 pythons a jungle and a olive on pinkie rabbits for about 2 months now feeding every second week and just thought it might not be as good for them in the long run to feed them solely on rabbits. they are also a lot cheaper than mice and rats

Jimbo I think rabbits are fine, but they dont have the same nutritional value as an adult mouse or weiner rat as they dont have the fur or developed bone structure. Maybe feed a mouse or rat every 3rd feed or so. IMO

mine boy takes 300-400 gram rabbits every 3rd feed and he loves them they have alot more nutritional value in them compared to rats and mice but these guys have hair but as snakeasaurus said pinkies whould not have that same nutritional value as and adult rat
but i would deffenetly feed my guys these all the time if i had the money too but at $10 a wabbit it's every 3rd feed

I am breeding my own rabbits and feeding my large snakes mainly rabbits. My larger animals eat full size adults now and I think that they love it. I am feeding only once in 40 days aproximately when large rabbit fed.

hi surfcop,
to my knowledge you can't buy them, but i could be wrong, i know you can buy them from where i live for eating yourself, but thats all skined and cleaned, but saying that, your coastals will do fine on adult rats when they get that size, mine are 3 years old and i feed them 2 or 3 medium sized rats through summer,

cheers,
steve.......
