aspen bedding

hey alli am interested in getting some aspen bedding to put in some of my tanks just wondering where can i buy it from and how much is it?cheers matt

Hey Griz, you can get it from post reptile supply stores, there are 2 brands Kaytee and Zoomed. Kaytee is slightly more COURSE (i deliberately use the wrong spelling as i get censored if i put A next to the rse) but it's much of a muchness.

It is fairly expensive, a large bag will cost you anywhere between $35-50 depending on where you purchase it from. A large bag would just do a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft enclosure. With spot cleaning that would need to be totally replaced in in 2-3 months at the maximum.

I use it for hatchy's a fair bit but it's a bit pricey for whole tanks. I've started to use steam sterilised red-cypress mulch much like what Greg Maxwell uses for his greens. It's not off the shelf I get it made up.

i've seen it in some pet stores, i've found it hard to come by from time to time due to stock levels that the shops manage.

cant remember prices though for what size, but i THINK i saw a 20kg bag for $55.00 the other day.

you mean 20L, 20kg would be more than a ute load
