im thinking of grabbing a mercury vapour bulb but was just curious on the life span of these..
does the uva/b run low after 6months or do they go longer..
also what would be the minimum distance that a 100w MVB have to be from a beardies basking spot...
just weighing up my options..
hopefully picking up a 60cm high x 55wide x 150 long tank tomorrow. (if it dosnt get sold by then)

Just go easy - if they smash they're way more toxic than alternatives. I would suggest don't breath. We used to use mercury vapour lamps for tomato crops, and one dropped... ooooh... it was a nasty day - you don't know what got contaminated!

Great for the growth cycle, not too good for flowering.
