Hey Guys and Girls,
Got a phone call from Wildlife Victoria this morning asking if I could care for an injured Bluey.
The little tacker has a fairly deep laceration (vet had to poke its intestines back in) which has been stapled. Yes, you read that right, stapled.
Have to give it Baytril injections (0.06ml) every third day. It goes back to the vet in 2 weeks to get the staple removed.
Blue Tongues are fairly hardy so hopefully the little fella will recover.

No, Kylie, they gave me the address of where he was found so once he recovers I'll release him back in the same general area.
He seems full of beans at the moment, every time I go near him, he goes into the classic Bluey bluff with mouth open and tounge out. The injury doesn't seen to slow him down either. Trying to take the photos I had to catch him 4 times. Little bugger kept darting off.

good to see a vet putting the effort in to help a baby rep, not all of them would do that (expecially when they're intestines are hanging out)
Sound like he's on the road to recovery, lets just hope it wasn't a cat attack.

Yeah, it is good to see...
My missus parents found about 8 baby blueys in their backyard (over the course of about a week) about a month ago...most had pretty major cuts and the local vet took every single one of them in and fixed the little tykes up...presumably to be passed on to a carer...
Keep us updated on his efforts Elapid...
