yeah, he's tops, definatly my fav,

as you can see though, he just drops dead where ever he can, the biggest porblem is twice now i've caught him asleep under water in his water dish! it really worries me, as i'm afraid he'll drown. and i'll aswer silly questions now - no he does not have mites, no he's not too hot. he just falls aseelp where ever he falls pretty much. these photos are just te tip of the ice berg, i took them over 3-4 nights running, he pulls off these weird sleeping postures EVERY NIGHT!?

I have a hatchling and sometimes it does sleep in funny positions but not as good as yours, and never seen it in the water. Mostly it digs under a furnishing and sleeps there.

jason - i have used breeders choice, sillica sand and washed pebble, he seems to like the pebble the best, and it's easy to maintain, i just scoop it out every fortnight and wash it, then throw it back in wet, helps him shed.

nathan - he's only small, around 20cm SVL.

he hasn't grown much at all since i got him, and we feed him heaps, i'm starting to think 2 things,

1. he may actually be a she

2. the diet of rat and mouse pinkys and fuzzies wasn't good enough.

he now gets chopped chicken necks dusted with reptivite.

he has a uv fluro and basking lamp for 10 hours a day, so he's getting all the right things.

he also gets occasional crickets.

as for him being a big sleeper,

i can pick him up when he's asleep, and he'll half open one eye, then go straight back to sleep, i can plonk him on the desk while i surf the net, and he just sleeps there.

he's awake twice, sometimes three times a day, for only an hour or two. good life huh.
