Hi Everyone,
I know (I think) this is a bandy-bandy, but I know nothing else about them. Are the venomous? Introduced? What's their range?
Sadly this little guy looks like he met an untimely demise

Venomous, eat blind snakes, look good, easily confused with stephens (?).
A man last year was air lifted to Cairns Base Hospital after being bitten by one - he was a tour guide who tried to move it off the road. He didn't display any symptoms and was put on 'watch' only (as far as I recall).

Awwwww I quite like the look of them I think a few people have kept, or tried to keep these at one point or another. Apparently they are hard to keep in capivity and are troublesome feeders (I think that's what I heard). They are venomous but I'm not sure they a real bitey snake.

They are not usually bitey at all.

With difficulty. It couldn't get its mouth around my hand on the first two attempts, but on the third attempt it managed to grab a bit of loose skin on my middle finger.

It was the smallest of the three bandy-bandies we found on the road that night. I'm sort of glad I didn't get bitten by a bigger one, but it would have been interesting to find out what they're capable of. Now, whenever I find a bandy-bandy (or any of the other small, 'non-bitey' snakes like Furina) I'm that little bit more cautious.
