Plenty of threads on this stuff already. Just do a search if "bank" or "enclosures"
Cheers

Hi Nikki,
Here is a pic of our new bank of enclosures. We keep it in our herp room, which is an unused bedroom right next to ours ('cos I like to visit the little critters frequently ). The bank is made up of two parts stacked on top of one another. The top part is 1800 x 600 x 600 with a divider in the middle - creating two smaller enclosures. The bottom part is identical.
As you can see, we're currently keeping a single bearded dragon in each of the top two enclosures. Not sure yet what we will do with the bottom two. Right now I'm looking at those two spare enclosures as a pretty good excuse to get a python But I'm not sure. In the meantime, we may use those spare enclosures for our beardie hatchlings when they come along.
We've got a few other enclosures in the herp room, all are glass fishtanks. One is 1300 x 600 x 600, another is 1200 x 460 x 460 and the third is 1500 x 460 x 460. All of them are empty at the moment, but have been decked out with mesh lids, astroturf and heat/uv globes as we were keeping beardies in them until we got this new bank.
As for cost... do you mean reptiles or enclosures? The enclosures set us back $500 which is an absolute steal. The beardies set us back $250 (for Diego) and $300 (for Phoenix). Taking into consideration everything we have spent since we first got our licence just over a month ago - I'd estimate around $2,000+
Ant (my partner) and I will be building our new house sometime in the near future, and are thinking of adding a third garage (as a herp room). I can see our collection expanding massively ... herps are like Pringles, you can't just stop at one

Miss B those two bottom enclosures look custom made for a python! A python that loves climbing on branches.

Nice cages Miss B and yes, those bottom ones are definitely designed for bascially any Morelia species. The only thing is, can you swap them around. It is better to keep your tree dwellers up high. Also, your use of the wall planters is good but to be effective they need to be a hiding spot for your snakes. In their current position they dont really offer this. If you are going to keep snakes in there can I humbly suggest moving the wall planters higher so that there is just enough space for the snake to crawl in there thius providing a great little hiding spot that you can easily remove.

Each enclosure came decked out with branch and planter pot - we just took them out of the beardie enclosures and kept them aside. Quote: |

We could also just leave the bank as is and relocate the beardies to the bottom two enclosures - the branches and other stuff easily click in and out of place and are easily moved. Quote: |

Now the only decision is; which type of python to get? What would go well in an enclosure of that size (900 x 600 x 600)... and I should probably mention that I am not really interested in Childreni, Stimsoni or Maculosa

Childreni etc probably aren't really interested in those branches either! Morelia sp. would do well in there for a little while until they're too big..

Not a huge fan of plain carpets either, I like something that's really interesting looking, nice colours etc.

Hypo bredlis are pretty. Coastals have a million colour morphs and variations. Black and yellow jungles are beautiful. GTPs obviously are hardly plain but you may need to sell a kidney.. Plenty of oppurtunity within the Morelia to get snake that is far from plain.

Surely there must be some more people with banks of enclosures to show Nikki?

Heres a 3 bank that my other half has built for me... thread link for specs Handy Andy Enclosure...
We are currently in the process of building a 5ft beardie enclosure with a 5 hatchie bank underneath.... i will get pics when its all done we just need to paint, decorate and attach glass and perspex...
I eventually want all of my enclosures to be like this.... banks are awesome space and time saving and look good when you spend a bit of time on them... I dont really like having say a garage full of snakes in banks etc..... i like mine scattered through the loungerooms and bedroom (with the spare room being the quartine area) so i can be around them constantly (i like greeting them all on my way in or out ) rather than them being shut away in a different area..... but i know the advantages of this type of set up and thats JMO....
