Last night he was fine, basking and gaping, but today, not so much...
Does anyone know what the matter is?

Seriously, If it's only one day and he wants to be left alone, you'll get that sometimes. Maybe he just needs a break, is starting a shed or was up partying all night. If it continues beyond a week, I'd get more worried.

Maybe just double check his temps to make sure everything is ok on that front.

He was a bit off for a couple of weeks and then just started the circle walking.
