hi just wanting to know how much i should be feeding my bearded dragon.
he/she is about 5 - 6 months old and 35cm (15cm snout to vent).
i feed him/her roaches and also bokchoy carrot alfalfa and endive.
he/she gets between 20 to 30 2cm roaches a day as well as his veg.
he/she gets through this in seconds and will still eat anything you offer him/her.
is it normal for a beardy to just want to keep eating?
thanks

Yep, feed it as much as it wants till it's adult, then cut back on the bugs unless your breeding with it.

if its big enough you can introduce pinkie mice
sounds like you are doing well!

ceramic is on a thermostat and runs 24/7.

what are the benefits with pinkie mice are they better than bugs??

there is no benefit if they only consume p/mice
but giving a variation of diet helps them in a nutritional sense
woodies/crickets/meal worms/earth worms/rodent...should make up 2/3rds of their diet...1/3 greens
by starting on pinkie mice once a fortnight...enables them to get use to it...then when big enough velvet mice....which is better..as the are consuming whole rodent which contains more calcium naturally without added supplements
my dragons by average start at 5mnths...one of my boys where 4 mnths...he was bigger than average though
now before brumation he was16mnths...& ate by average 2-3 velvet rats in one meal by hand feeding...his head was 10 cm across....
be aware....never give larger than the width of a rodent...than the space between the eyes
i place the rodent on the forehead of the dragon to make sure....
then let them consume it...they say ...
Yum,Mum.....please can i have some more!...lol
