yeh she should be ok as long as you dont feed her anymore.. its a good idea to take her to the vet and get the caving problem sorted out with some medicine.. good luck

oh and by the way crickets dont bite lol.. at least i dont think so?? but if she did slightly move her leg it means she is regaining her strength.. its exactly like a dog with a paralysis tick.

Crickets sure do bite. They will nibble away happily at young dragons...

Yep, I sometimes grab a handful and not uncommon to get a bit of a nip. Little buggers!

If you cant get to vet straight away.... give her a luke warm bath ,gently stroking her tummy downwards while you are holding her in the water... this will help with bowel movements...
at 8 wks you should still be supplementing her live foods 3 times per day... next few days just concentrate on the calcium & first foods should be veg to get her going again....(yes mix calcium into the veg!)

As for crickets... seen the damage done with a accy juve... 4 digits left if lucky & they started on her tail!
live left in a habitat will taunt them & eventually they dont grow as they dont sleep ,then dont eat... not a great calculation!

Hello

Hello,

The crickets were definitely too large.
Right now, I would concentrate on soft food slurries such as getting some applesauce, squash babyfood & a couple of drops of olive or mineral oil added, daily, along with extra fluids & calcium to help her out. NO solid food until she passes her impaction.
When you are bathing her, massage her belly on the right side starting at the arm pit all of the way down to the vent, very gently & in circular motions. Try doing this 2 times a day.
Keep her warmer at night as well. Use a ceramic heat emitter, or a heat pad overnight so her body can process the food & keep her metabolism up a bit to help out. Make sure there isi a towel in between her & the heat pad as well.
The temps need to be optimal for digestion during the day & UVB & calcium should be provided as well. What type of UVB do you have, is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil bulb?
I hope he will be ok!! Did you take him in for an x-ray to determine where exactly the impaction is located? Can you feel any lumps in his belly or is there a lump on his spine anywhere that you can notice right off?

Tracie

well she finally drank some water, i put her in a container for a little bath and her front end went nuts trying to get out (previous to this she just shut her eyes and didnt move) and she had a good drink, she got some vegies atm, waiting to see if she will eat, they are touching her nose as she cant move to well. her back is still caved in, but her belly feels soft and much much better this arvo

Twitching is a indication for poor U.V... & too little calcium!

as soon as we get paided tomorrow im going to get the calcuim powder stuff and mix it with some greens, she is dragging her self about and slowly getting some movement, the bottom just has newspaper i dont like the sands etc cuz they eat it, she has a UV light, but didnt know it shouldnt go through the glass so i have since fixed that, she gets sun light to, she is in a nice nad sunny room.
