The heat light in my beardie tank blew out the other day an it took me a few days to replace it... Ever since my male bearder dragon has been lying at the cold end of the tank in their water tub. If I take them out to hold, and then put them back in, he always finds his way back to the water tub. Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with humidity...
Would it be possible that he has gone into hibernation mode in the few days the heat light wasnt working, and has something to do with his metabloism?
I am taking my snake to the vet for her yearly check up and will take him with me, but any help in the interem would be appreciated...

At this time of year I would be leaving the light off and giving him something to bury in like a container of pine shavings, you could even take the water out for a week untill he settles down, If you have the light running on a thermostat you can turn it down to 25 deg and only for four hours a day, then slowly increase the temps and amount of time around September. My beardies all go into burmation in March every year (exept for one female that never does and eat all year long at any temp) The average temp of my herp room in March is 30 deg.! but they come out in August and are laying eggs in September. It seems that the best burmation spot, according to your beardie is the water bowl and if you can supply him with a better one he may chose to use it instead. Good Luck | | |
