Beardie Issues

While i was at work today, my GF caught one of my beardies "attacking" the other.
she said he was holding the other by the tail... and she actually had to seperate them.
(and atm are still seperated).
there are a few cuts on the tail... and i am told it was bleeding (has now clotted over)
how do i treat this?
-if vet, where would i find one in inner northern melb (and about how much will it cost)

i don't know the gender of either, as they are only about 4-5months old.
would this indicate both are male? (the also both bob their heads at us if that helps)

either way if they are male or female, they are obviousely having dominance issues and need permanent seperation, it isnt summer or spring so rule out breeding this is obviousely pure stress...

they are solitary animals, NOT social like the outdated books suggest.. and they will need to stay seperated, in order for the fighting to stop..

as for the wound, take the animal to the vet, (hopefully reptile ve if you can) and get it treated before it becomes infected, the treatment may be as simple as betadine, but better safe than sorry..

i would take out all the sand or substrate to help healing, actually i would take it out permanently as its not natural, slate tile or ceramic is more natural and safer (no risk of impaction) its also easier to keep clean.. http://www.beardeddragon.org/bjive/v...ic.php?t=47953

head bobbing is not just a male thing, and sex does not stop a solitary animal from fighting, two females will also do this.. no matter what the sex, they need seperation before the violence gets worse (great to see youve already done this)

violence is not just a food orientated thing,, and i feel the misconseption of them neing fine together is the over riding thought of it looking cool, or needing more space.. unfortunately..

hope this helps..
