Beardie question

I am thinking about getting a pair of beardies. I have only ever had Easterns before, and just wondering if Centrals and Westerns are fairly similar in temperament. I was hoping for a easily handled and placid lizard. Also wondering on sizes. Are any larger than others?I know every lizard will have it's own personality, but I just mean in general. Thanks.

Hi
Centrals & westerns are both Pogona vitticepts.
Top of the list worldwide as most popular lizard.
Smaller than easterns. More placid...

I think you should get some....

Hello

Hello,

Just wondered how large your easterns got, & if you have any pictures of them? I am in the US so we don't have any Easterns over here yet.
Thanks, in advance.

Tracie

I have owned 3 Easterns.Schandee (a juvenille femal) we only had for a few months, she wouldn't feed after getting her. Despite much effort of force feeding, she died.Guard Dog (an adult male) was fairly small for an adult. He would have been 20 - 30 cm not including tail (hard to remember, it's been a few years). He was awesome. Extraordinarily aggressive to strangers, but friendly if he knew you.Dog (another adult male) was my favourite. He was cute, and actively sought out attention, cuddles and chin scratches. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. He was only the size of a Juvenille. (My boyfriend had him before I was with him, so I think he might have been under fed/ fed the wrong things. Unfortunately he had a tragic accident. He gave himself fatal brain damage hitting his head on the side of his enclosure, after recieving a burn to the tongue (I had an autopsy done). We still to this day have no idea how he could have licked the heat lamp. It was enclosed, and too high up for him to reach. There was nothing else in the enclosure he could have burnt himself on. I will try to put some pics on this message, but I have never done it before, so I might stuff it up!Ok, so I can't figure out how to attatch a photo. I have a pic on my Myspace page. I will try to insert a link. (Although I probably will stuff that up too!)http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...mageID=2424235

I was wanting the biggest type, although after looking at the biggest and best thread, my Easterns were tiny compared to your Vittys! Although all of the beardies we have had sofar have been my boyfriends pets, and he has a habit of under feeding/not providing correct heat/UV/feeding crappy foods (McDonalds cheeseburgers as a treat for example!). I have taken control of the feeding of the existing reptiles, and the new additions, so definately no under feeding now!
