also what substrate should I use i heard its bad for small beardies to sand so what should i use and are heat rocks ok for them.

A long shorter enclosure is probably better. They do climb but only a bit. The more floor space the beter. Steer clear of sand for about 6-8mths as they can ingest it and it can cause compaction which is most times deadly. Newspaper or paper towel is the best and cheapest option. I dont use heat rocks as I dont trust them and they dont seem to heat the enclosure light lights do. Thats just my opinion.

ok so when there 6 to 8 months old its ok to use sand but for now use newspaper and my small jacky has sand is that ok and is there anything like peat moss or something that i can use that might look a bit bettter thanks

i use heat rocks for my diamond python for 6 years and neevr had a problem although some people do come across problems like burns with them, maybe best optionwould be a heat light with a cage around it for protection for the lizard and for substrate i would use paper towel or newspaper aswell just incase untill the lizard gets a little bigger, as for the tank short and long if fine but try to get a bit of height in the tank because they are quite the climbers.

no there not your only options it comes to personal choice i used crushed almond shell that i bought from the pet shop(although it is digestable) for my baby pythons and never had a problem.. its truly upto you whatever you decide im sure it will be fine and just make sure if you put sand in the tank to clean fairly often.

pretty much just to keep goof hygine for your lizard.. its completly your choice but newspaper and paper towel are much easier to clean but yes sand should be fine
