I was just going to leave my heat lights off for the full 6 weeks but just thought id double check on here..And has anyone's beardies started mating yet?

I'm by no means an expert here, bred them for the first time last season. All i did though was when they began brummating of their own accord i just reduced the heat and light period down to bout 10hrs a day.

If they are inside then turn the heat off.....I put all mine in a box (large click clack type) in the house and they breed successfully every year. Just make sure they haven't eaten for about a week or so before the heat is turned completely off. Sometimes if a couple of days are warm they may wake up but just keep an eye on them, they will let you know when they wake up in Aug. |

Gender:  | | | | I heat and feed mine all year round, I just vary the amount of daylight heating hours they get, some dragons will brumate from March to August, some will brumate on and off (eating small amounts now and then), some will eat like pigs all winter......but all will breed come August. Desert reptiles should have some heating on offer during winter, even if it's just for a couple of hours a day.
