After 5 months of living with her clutchmate Kyro, Kaida stopped eating. Even when i tried feeding her seperately, she looked around for Kyro and waved @ the roaches. I never saw him actually attacking her or even pushing her off the basking area, but did notice towards the end of last week she was hanging out half way down the ramp away from the heat.
so Kyro has now moved into Daisys tank, and Daisy and Kaida are now house dragons sharing the big girls tank/and our lounge/kitchen area and Kaidas eating well again......
Just thought i'd post this incase any noobs are thinking that because the havent actually seen any aggressive behaviours taking place between beardies that are living together, dominant behaviour can be really subtle and happen really suddenly.

It almost always is, and every time you put two dragons together, there will always be dominant behaviour from one. I am getting sick of people telling me their dragons are friends because they always sit on top of each other.......

except some people do actually have dragons that stop eatng, stop basking, and barely move at all when seperated and are left alone.
although i am happy to accept that they are the exception rather than the rule.

i dont disagree Forensick, when i seperated my big girls (years ago on someones advice) they were miserable and tried to get back together thru the partition i put up, they wouldnt stay stil and just kept @ the partition till i took it down. (didnt even last a day,....) those 2 still follow each other everywhere and curl up together to nap.
But these 2 (boy and girl) needed it, Kaida definately looks happier sharing with the other 3 girls and Kyro can now play king of the castle without making anyone miserable. and he still gets let out to hang out with them when someones home and supervising.
Frank, Kaidas happy as, the big girls leave the tank after about an hour, Daisy goes and curls up behind the TV cabinet or under the fish tank by lunch time so she had the whole 6X2 foot tank to herself! she goes nuts being my digging queen!
