Beardy UV bulb

just double checking, a Beardy should be under a 5.0 UV bulb, right? ive always used 5.0, but someone must have mentioned a 10.0 to me, because ive confused myself.

thanks in advance,
Josh

i'd say if you have the choice between the 5.0 and the 10.0 go the 10 but i suppose either will do provided they are close enough to it etc etc.
I've heard the same thing and keep one dragon under a 5.0 and the other under a 10.0 because the pet shop only had one 10.0 left.

ok, thanks, ill start using the 10.0's. the 5.0 has always seemed to work, but the more the merrier.

actually, editing here, the beardy is only just under a foot away from the light, so any danger in using a 10.0? i know this may sound stupid, but better to ask and be a fool for a minute, than not ask and be a fool for a lifetime... with a dead beardy...

10 will give you a distance of 30cms to be postioned away from your beardy, i think the 5 is 15cms, i use that for my snake. i use urs edison fittings. 10 also give you more, but they work a lot better with a reflecter to reflect the rays down. you can use a foil baking tray its easy to work with and does the job well.

10.0 will be fine for a beardy Josh.

this is about 6 months old, and for the record i use a 10.0 currently, with a reflector, bought from the always helpful 'mysnakesau'.

Do you mean you use a 'Compact Max' kit?

This is what I was refering to. These are good as the reflector isn't too wide, and you can sit it on top of enclosure mesh nicely. The only problem is the reflector fits onto the Compact Max globe itself and can only be used with those globes, rather than a generic reflector being part of the fitting and able to take any globe. Hope that makes sense.
