Habistat or Microclimate. You have to be very careful that you use the appropriate thermostat for the heat source you are using.

My personal opinion is that the Microclimate B1ME is the best thermostat on the Aussie market. For price, functionality and versatility there are few that even compare.

The Habistat's should never fail if used correctly.

Since the Herp Shop has been carrying them I believe he has only had the one unit returned as "failed" and even in this situation there was a possibility the wiring to the ceramic had not shorted due to heat damage.

It is important with the newer "clever" thermostats that you use the right thermostat for the heat source - both for the reliability of the heat source and the thermostat.

I can vouch for the reliability and accuracy of the habistat brand.

When i first started with reps i got one of the cheapo wall thermostats, absolute pain to wire and not the most accurate. The wiring diagrams were totally incorrect

Now using habistat, so easy, just plug it in, no need for a sparky and i have found them to be super accurate. For the extra say 40 bucks between the wall type and a proper herp thermostat there is no comparison.

I've been using a Habistat for something like 12 years and still going strong.
Been using the day/night model form the past couple of years and it's great.
