Since the Herp Shop has been carrying them I believe he has only had the one unit returned as "failed" and even in this situation there was a possibility the wiring to the ceramic had not shorted due to heat damage.
It is important with the newer "clever" thermostats that you use the right thermostat for the heat source - both for the reliability of the heat source and the thermostat.

When i first started with reps i got one of the cheapo wall thermostats, absolute pain to wire and not the most accurate. The wiring diagrams were totally incorrect
Now using habistat, so easy, just plug it in, no need for a sparky and i have found them to be super accurate. For the extra say 40 bucks between the wall type and a proper herp thermostat there is no comparison. |
